Everything else in the vinyl range is a plank pretending to be wood. This is the other half of the category: vinyl cut in tile formats, printed with stone, marble and concrete faces, and often laid with a grout joint so it genuinely passes for tile. It gives you the warmth and quiet of vinyl underfoot in a bathroom or laundry where porcelain would feel cold and hard, and it forgives a subfloor that is not dead flat.
